Ancestor Worship: Confucianism places importance when it comes to treating the elders with respect and care. This is the oldest ritual in Confucianism, dating back to the first recorded document, where this ritual occurred was in the Shang dynasty (1570-1045 B.C.E.). It is performed to commemorate those who have died and a way to show respect. Ancestor worshipping also is a way to communicate and have a sacrifice for those who have passed away. This is part of Asian culture, and many people still do this today. When it is the time of the funeral, necessities (toothbrush, water, etc.) are either put into the coffin or burned as a sacrifice. There are also home altars that are set up that includes a framed picture of the one who passed. All
