The pharaohs of the New Kingdom were the most powerful pharaohs of ancient Egypt because Ramses II was the most successful pharaoh, they gained control through conquest, and they developed relations. In Chapter 5, lesson 3 of “Discovering our Past: A History of our World” (our social studies textbook) it states “Ramses conquered the region of Canaan and moved north into Syria. To get this territory, he fought the Hittites”. This proves that Ramses II (also known as “Ramses the Great”), was very powerful, for the Hittites were smart and very hard to beat. “The Hittites were among the first people to master ironworking.

The documentary begins with Amenhotep III and his great accomplishments in diplomacy. For example, the wealth and power of his empire due to the control of gold that was being traded with different nations to maintain peace for his people. Also discussed, his use of scarab propaganda, used as newspapers to his people telling of his accomplishments and never of conflict. After Amenhotep III’s death, his son Akhenaten became king.

Thutmose III has excellent qualifications to be considered as the greatest pharaoh of all time. Military rise and tremendous battle tactics arose with the reign of Thutmose III. Kaiylah Mercado Cleopatra’s Legacy Cleopatra VII Philopator was the last pharaoh of Ptolemaic Egypt. I chose her because I believe that many women pharaohs are interesting in different ways. Also, while men are believed to be “superior” to being ruler of a kingdom or country, I believe that women should be treated equally, just like Cleopatra was. In final, she did not use her beauty to her advantage. In fact, she had a strong intellect, knowing about a dozen languages and being educated in a variety of subjects.
Cultural and administrative developments during the reign of Den, king of Dynasty One As king of Egypt in the middle of Dynasty One, Den displayed both an adherence to a solidifying royal tradition and an enthusiasm for innovation. We can see from written, visual, and archaeological evidence how he built on established precedent to put his own unique mark on the culture and administration of Early Dynastic Egypt. He distinguished the united status of Egypt and his image as its ruler, increased administrative bureaucracy, pursued foreign interests in the Near East, and reformed funerary architecture and practice. During his reign, Den emphasised his role as leader of a unified Egypt.
Ancient Egypt Dear King Hammurabi, my quest from Egypt was quite a journey, let me start by telling you about the Nile River. The Nile is the longest river in the world, with a total distance of 4,000 miles long. This spectacular river floods every year, but in Egypt this is a good thing because it provided the Egyptians with fertile silt for crops. On top of that, it also provided the water of which they sailed ships out of Egypt. Fish and other animals were also in the Nile, which was another way it was good for food.
1.3.1 Land of the Nile The Egyptians called their country Kernet meaning “the Black Land.” They also called it Deshret meaning “the Red Land. ”They also used the term Lower Egypt to refer to the northern delta and Upper Egypt to refer to the communities along the river all the way south to Asia. Through the use of the Nile River water, careful management of dykes and irrigation systems, the Egyptians developed a flourishing agricultural system. They also established an early fishing industry.
Out of many past ancient civilizations, the Egyptian empire was one of the most culturally influencing and architecturally advanced. During the duration of its oldest period of stability, dubbed “The Old Kingdom”, one of the most recognizable Egyptian structures was designed and built multiple times over the course of approximately 300 years, until the Egyptian kingdom was unstable. A notable example of Middle Kingdom rulers emulating the symbolism and feats of the kings of the Old Kingdom would be the use of aesthetics derived from the Sed festival, as well as the continuation of the festival itself, by Middle Kingdom kings. For instance, a statue of Mentuhotep II depicts him wearing the robe associated with the Sed festival. The festival itself was also celebrated by kings of the Middle Kingdom. The rulers of the Middle Kingdom may have utilized the festival as a means to continue the traditions of the Old Kingdom. In my opinion, the kings of the Middle Kingdom may have employed the applied significance of the Sed festival (which is to celebrate the continued rule of a king) to exemplify the continuation of Egypt as a kingdom.
Much of our knowledge of the past has come from archaeological finds. Nicholas Reeves, A British Egyptologist at the University of Arizona, claims there are two secret hidden chambers in the tomb of King Tut. He speculates one contains the remains of Queen Nefertiti. Thanks to modern day technologies such as Pyramid Scans, we are able to advance our historical understanding. The preservation of pharaohs bodies and riches is thanks to the ancient Egyptians, Egyptians saw their pharaohs as gods.
