The Ancient Greeks influenced, if not created, the basis for most western societies. Their legacy and contributions have been learned for thousands of years. However, the influence Ancient Greeks made has not been forgotten or looked down on. Rather, the duration of Ancient Greek history has been something of fascination for many individuals. They have shaped the way how cultures use concepts such as, English, math and science. The Ancient Greeks accomplished a colossal amount through their use of mythology, literature, and philosophy, all of which still affects humanity today.
Greek mythology is a concept that has been taught to most children since they were little. Whether it was through movies or at school, it has been in the back of individuals minds. Through the concept of Greek mythology, individuals can learn prodigious stories about consequences and rewards through the twelve gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus. However, it also allows individuals to look back on history and see what the Ancient Greek people used to think and do; especially, with the works of art that made these stories last potentially forever. Moreover, Ancient Greek language and literature and is still highly recognized, especially works like the Odyssey by Homer, and the use of Greek letters in everyday life. Also, great philosophers such as Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle have greatly influenced science and politics through their use of observation. Moreover, math, science, English, art, and religion could have possibly been hindered, and/or not the way it is today, if not for the influence from the Ancient Greeks. Finally, the Ancient Greeks influenced western civilization so much, that without them, our society would not look like it does
