At one period in time ancient macedonia was the most powerful empire in the world. Macedonia was an indestructible empire that changed the region. Dominant, wise kings, men who knew archeology well, and strong warriors willing to fight made the rise of macedonia happen. The Macedonians had some very main beliefs. They were polytheistic, which means they believed in many gods. Polytheistic people usually fall under the Olympian gods, but there are other cultures that are polytheistic too, that do not believe in the Olympian gods. Some of the gods and goddesses were, “Zeus; king of the gods, Hera; queen of the gods, Poseidon; god of the sea, Hades; god of the underworld, Hestia; goddess of hearth and home, and Athena; goddess of wisdom and war” (http://www.dl.ket.org/ ). As they go through history their customs tend to change as well as their traditions. They started out original, but eventually things start to change. “The ancient Greek and Roman historians tell us that the Macedonians spoke a separate Macedonian language and had their own customs, culture, and traditions” (http://www.historyofmacedonia.org/). Macedonians did originate with the Greek culture, but then they split off and went on their own and changed things a little bit.
