Andrew Stevens Synthesis Statement EDIT 701 Synthesis Statement At the conclusion of my time in George Mason’s Instructional Design and Technology Master’s program, it is time to reflect upon the work completed and the knowledge gained. From getting acquainted during the first day of class to practicing design in the workplace, it has been a transformative experience professionally. I currently work as an information technology professional and perform said work at the Lab school of Washington, a school for students with moderate to severe learning disabilities. It is fortunate I have had the opportunity to apply my acquired design skills in a workplace as diversified and challenging as the Lab School has provided. As EDIT 704 and 705 progressed my knowledge in the field of IDT from theoretical to practical, it was during 730’s constructivist learning environment design project that I truly began to internalize the design process. In applying the process to a fictitious internship program, I took my real work experience and designed a program incorporating elements of my previous experience learning onsite to a cognitive apprenticeship model of instruction.
