Pop art is the type of art used to describe the culture of the modern time period. This category of art describes unusual people with unusual talents. Pop art is the type of art that catches the eye. This culture is best known as an elite society of every nature and kind. It’s unique style gives it class, elegance and grace. This culture started in 1956 in England. This type of art hasn’t really died out in the nation yet. Some of the famous artists of the pop art culture include Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, and their paintings. Andy Warhol is one of the famous artists in the pop art culture. He is most famous for his “Twenty-Five Colored Marilyn’s” piece of artwork. Andy Warhol was born in 1928 on August the 6th. He died in 1987 on February the 22nd. He died from complications during a gallbladder surgery. Most of his artwork included images of Marilyn Monroe. Each Marilyn is different in the image. The background is blue. It seems as if the color pattern is going from dark to light, in the first row. The second row is similar to the first row, going dark to light. The third row is various shades of light blendings. The fourth is looking like the colors go light to dark. The fifth row is different dark shadings. The light and darks that are being used are pink, blue, yellow, red, brown, black, baby blue, purple and green. The Drowning Girl is another one of the most famous pop art paintings. This is an image of what looks like raging water with a woman that seems to be drowning. The caption, “ I DON’T CARE! I’D RATHER SINK THAN CALL BRAD FOR HELP!” makes the woman’s attitude appear depressed or heartbroken. This caption even makes the woman seem a little on the suicidal side.
