The career I chose is as an Anesthesiologist. I have been very interested in becoming an Anesthesiologist for about two years now. I am interested in this career because anesthesiologists are able to put people into a medically induced sleep for medical procedures. I also like that it is a very hands-on specialty. I want a job in this medical field because I want to be in the healthcare field and I think anesthesiology is fascinating. I think I'm a good candidate for this job because I can problem solve and I can pay attention to something without being distracted. Being able to help someone deal with pain is something I enjoy and knowing that I will be helping someone. I know that tragedy can happen while pursuing this career. However, I think I will be able to endure the pain and be strong for the patient's family. The career of an Anesthesiologist has many amazing features. Anesthesiologists are able to work any shifts, weekends, and holidays. They are always working indoors and in medical settings. Anesthesiologists analyze ideas, use logic to determine their strengths and weaknesses, draw conclusions, understand new information or materials, and work with them. They typically work 40 or more hours per week and are on-call any hour of the day (“Working Conditions”). Features like this are exactly what I'm looking for in a career. I like the idea of being able to help the patient before, during, and after surgery. Also being able to help them feel comfortable before their procedure.
