Today, with more intense social processes, companies need a good leader to succeed. Therefore, the leadership style is important for companies to achieve competitive advantage. The leadership style has become more and more valued and an essential factor for success. This essay discusses the theory of four main leadership styles, and uses them to compare the leadership style more effective and productive of Angela Ahrendts and Marissa Mayer, using Darling and Leffel is framework of leadership style. Her leadership style also is the Creator and Director. Mayer is listed as a co-inventor on 11 patents (Yahoo Inc, 2015). She has great deal of innovative stuff in the advertising. Besides, she focusses on the Yahoo’s advertisement. Then each program is original works, Mayer said (Yahoo Inc, 2015). She deeply believes her decision, 8.7 billion as a bet in the Japan’s Yahoo investment. She proved to the company with her own actions, which she is strong leader, competitive and decisive stakeholder. At the same time, the Yahoo also support her and her strategy. She knows what the organization wants, and she is willing to take risk. People who have Director-type leadership style are usually very concerned about the results (Darling and Leffel, 2010). What is more, people who have this style are very independent, they will get attention because the ability of complete the work.
