Have you ever been in the spotlight or felt like you were being followed? Well that’s what Angela and Q feel like in my book I.Q. In I.Q Angela and Q are stepbrother and sister. Angela’s dad Roger is a musician along with Q’s mom Blaze. While traveling the country on tour with their newly wed step parents they run into some friendly faces and some troubling ones along the way. In this book there is mystery, terrorism and a whole lot of suspense. In this journal I will be evaluating, visualizing and clarifying. I like this book for several reasons, but I also have my problems with this book too. In the beginning of the story I extremely enjoyed getting some background about the family. I liked knowing Q’s background and knowing where he lived before he lived in a luxury bus for months to come. Both Angela and Q seemed as happy as the sun on the bus. I also enjoyed how there was some mystery to the story like how Boone showed up in the middle of nowhere without any vehicle or form of transportation whatsoever. The part of the story where Boone, his dog, and the kids are in Independence Hall talking about Angela’s mother’s death seems to be just about her mom. After reading the whole chapter you realize that the story of Angela’s mother dying involved so much more than just a bomb. At that point it was still really confusing. You find out that there is a high school boy on a field trip planting a bomb to try to create a holocaust. “Remember the kid in the school group” “He planted the bomb on November 30.” (Smith, Roland I.Q) You also find out Angela’s mother could be alive, or it could be her twin sister. I think this whole event meant that there is more to come and add on
