An outstanding athlete, Louie Zamperini, determined, rebellious, track star and a WWII survivor. A troubled life as a kid, but was pushed by his older brother, Pete, to run. Louie hated it, but then after running more he loved it as he became a very famous track athlete. His life changed in an instant when he was called to serve for his country. Louie Zamperini, from Laura Hillenbrand’s Unbroken, exhibits many character traits but in all, determined, and rebellious are most relevant.
The novel Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand tells the story of Louie Zamperini’s childhood, military service and imprisonment, along with the effects of the latter on his life after the war. In it, many characters of the story are examples of the overall theme of people finding themselves in their darkest moments. In fact, two of the most important characters of the book, Louie and Watanabe, are used to place this theme at the forefront of the story. When Louie was sent to the prison camp where Watanabe was, it began his slow descent into the worst part of his entire life.
Throughout the past century, there has been a diversity of movies produced from romance, to action, to comedy, and to an endless variety of genres. Each film has a distinctive purpose within its plot to capture the audience’s interest. In 2011, an Oscar winning, comedy-drama film was released called The Descendants. This film displays the events of a husband, two daughters, and friends coping with an ill wife who unexpectedly suffers after a boating accident. While tending to the care of his wife, Matt King discovers several unforeseen circumstances about his marriage with Elizabeth King and rethinks his oblivious position in his family life alongside his two daughters, Alexandra and Scottie King.
According to google prisoners of war are people who have been captured and imprisoned by the enemy in war. The Law says prisoners are treated with respect and dignity. Some people don’t follow the law which may lead them into beating, starving and making them work. Louie was a fractious child who had turned into something great, an Olympic athlete. Later, he had went into the war and fought for his country.
The three-time United States Track and Field Olympic champion, Gail Devers once said, “Sometimes we fall, sometimes we stumble, but we can’t stay down. We can’t allow life to beat us down. Everything happens for a reason, and it builds character in us, and it tells us what we are about and how strong we really are when we didn’t think we could be that strong.” In the non-fiction book Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand, protagonist Louis Zamperini demonstrates his everlasting perseverance through his everyday actions. Like Devers believed, the resilient Zamperini refused to be defeated or demoralized and did everything in his power to keep his feet on the ground and his chin up.

(Add a one sentence summary of Lily’s speech and insert here.) The poem that is read in The Outsiders, called “Nothing Gold Can Stay”, by Robert Frost, supports the claim that one should be content with what one has because greatness never stays for long, and causes more sorrow than happiness. The poem states that, “Nature’s first green is gold; Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour” (Frost 1-4).
The “Outsiders” novel / movie are both interesting stories. There are some similarities like , setting , charters . And there are differences like, the events change .
In the book The Outsiders there is a part in the book where a character named Johnny says “stay gold” to another character named Ponyboy. In my perspective I see the quote “stay gold” as Johnny telling Ponyboy to stay innocent and beautiful on the inside, and to not end up like he did. Most importantly, he was also telling Ponyboy to keep being himself which I believe is the best thing you can do. So, the aspects of my personality that I am confident make me who I am are my sense of humor, my attitude, and my mentality. One of the aspects of my life and personality that I think make me golden is my sense of humor.
The film, Life is Beautiful,
Rough Draft # 3 In Shakespeare’s Macbeth, passage 2.2 12-93 is significant because of the use of the theme topics guilt, good vs evil and Lady Macbeth’s dominant character. Specifically, the passage is significant because of the use of the theme topic guild that creates culpability between characters throughout the scene.

The confinement of females under mental and physical distress is the central theme in Gustave Flaubert’s Madame Bovary, and Wilkie Collins The Woman in White. Flaubert’s Emma Bovary is a narcissist whose self-induced obsession with literature restricts her from having a happy fulfilling life, as nothing compares to the excitement and adventures she reads in her novels. While the plot of Wilkie Collins The Woman in White depicts two women incarcerated against their will in a private mental institution. These private asylums proliferated in the mid nineteenth-century as alternatives to the established large-scale public hospitals/asylums.
She is Marnelli Bautista, a good friend since 2007. She grew up in Saudi Arabia, the reason for having good command of the English language. Pair it up with random thoughts… That was how she came up with her songs. Which I think is pretty amazing.
“Lolita” and “Dr. Strangelove” are Kubrick’s attempts at using comedy more prevalently in his films. While not straying from interesting and dark subject matter, Kubrick seemed to move to using comedy as a way to enhance his narratives. In “Lolita” Kubrick explores several different forms of comedy in dialog, dramatic irony, awkward humor, and even slapstick. The characters in the film also each have very distinct humorous character traits.
