I have learned that success is to be measured not much by the position that one has reached in the live as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed. Everyone has faced obstacles and most of the time some people overcome them. Thee obstacles that people face have to overcome, live with them, or even just go around them. Three characters that face and overcome obstacles in imaginary literature or real life are Jon Krakauer, Odysseus, and me. Jon Krakauer had obstacles to face when he climbed down Mt.Everest in the excerpt of “Into Thin Air”.
While reading the book titled Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline, I was introduced to several characters. First, we are introduced to Molly, a troubled foster kid in a bad situation. Then we meet Vivian, a great lady, who experiences the life of an orphan during the early 1900s. The connection between Molly and Vivian is Jack, Molly’s boyfriend. Jack is the character who I felt like I was most like.
Arthur Dimmesdale was the town minister in The Scarlet Letter, a story of a young woman who committed adultery and faced the consequences, such as wearing a scarlet “A” on her chest. Dimmesdale was a very interesting character because he was very religious but also committed a sin that haunted him everyday. He also happened to be the man who was involved in the young woman’s adultery. He was never convicted, however he still faced the consequences everyday. Dimmesdale was a man of God.
Crucible Essay The seven deadly sins were shown throughout the crucible many times. Many of the characters showed signs of having these traits. The characters in the story all had a few similar traits and that was anger. Everyone was blaming each other for things that were not true.

Although, this is not the only example in the story where he shows anger. In Nightmare in Yellow, “It was ridiculous, he knew, but it had become important that his moment of freedom should come then and not a minute earlier or a minute later. He watched his watch. He would have missed it by half a minute if he'd waited till they were inside the house. But the dark of the porch of their house was perfectly safe, as safe as inside.

Anger is a common disease possessed by many humans. How people deal with anger is what makes them different. Some, the second they are confronted, act out violently. Some hold it in until they cannot possibly take anymore, then explode. Some, let other people act out for them.
A woman, by definition, is an adult human female but is classified as a wife, girlfriend and even a female paid to clean someone’s house and carry out general domestic duties. For a long time, women have been trapped by gender ideology and have not been seen as a man’s equal. Men were being praised for simple acts, while women had gotten no recognition for doing something greater. The female population has achieved so much more than basic talents and acts and a lot more than what they have been given credit for. For example, three women by the names of Harriet Beecher Stowe, Harriet Ann Jacobs, and Gloria Steinem, have played their part in preserving the nation.

The Lamb to the Slaughter is a mystery horror story by Roald Dahl. It is about a wife (Mary Maloney) murdering her drunk husband (Patrick Maloney) after he gives her short answers when she asks him questions. She hits him over the head with a leg of lamb to kill him. A theme I see is change and when something bad happens. You can drastically change in life.
