We Should Keep Testing On Animals
Animal testing is widely criticized because you are harming another living creature. The good thing animal testing is doing for us are helping us be healthy. The positives to animal testing are that it increases human health and cures diseases. The negative is that it we are using something that is alive.
The good things that animal testing do are that they help with the improving of human health. Animal research through testing has gotten rid of some infectious diseases such as polio and rheumatic fever. They have gotten rid of these diseases by using animals as test subjects. Some animals are a lot like humans in the way they are made up. Chimpanzees are

Even though we would be able to see the direct effect on us, we have determined that it is unethical to test on humans. So we use animals as the test subjects. We use them because we can see how it affects the animals and then see if it will be safe for humans to use. There are regulation in place to make sure that all the animals used for testing are carried out in a humane way. The have a set of principles to follow which are called the three R’s. The first R is replace. It means that if animals don’t have to be used then they won’t. If they can use cells or computer generated models then they will. The second R is reduce. It reduces the number of animals used in the experiments by not having the same experiment done by many people. The third and final R is refine. The way that animals are treated and cared for increases. It also minimizes the amount of stress and pain the animal may …show more content…
It has increased the life span of an average person by three decades over the past century.
Many people don’t like us testing on animals. They think it is unethical to test on another living thing. They say that animals have rights and that we are breaking them when we use them in our research. Tom Regan, a philosophy professor at North Carolina State University, states: "Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment. . . .This inherent value is not respected when animals are reduced to being mere tools in a scientific experiment". They say that animals should be treated with the same respect that we give humans.
When we test on animals they say we are causing them pain, but there are certain rules set in place to prevent that from happening. Some people may bend the rules and not care about how they treat the animals.
We use animals when we are trying to find a new way to help the body look better. They shave them and use their bare skin to test the new products these product have effects on the animals. It changes the way they look by making them look deformed and have death causing side effects. The company’s don’t care about the animals they just want to make more
