Have you ever seen Harry Potter? What about Percy Jackson? Both are very great and inspiring movies/books. I’m not going to compare and contrast the books/movies as a whole, but mainly focusing on two characters, Hermione Granger and Annabeth Chase. Have you ever wondered how they are different? What about alike? I certainly have and I’m here to share my thoughts with you. Hermione and Annabeth are both strong, independent, female characters who are very much alike, but also different.

One thing that stands out about these characters is the fact that they are both very intelligent. As seen in the movies or read in the books Hermione shows off her intelligence in the classroom. She is very book smart and spends a lot of her time reading large books. At one point in one of the movies Hermione turns back time to take extra classes that she doesn’t have to because she enjoys learning so much. She is even referred to as “the brightest witch of her age.” Annabeth’s mother, Athena, is the goddess of wisdom and battle strategy, therefore she is inherently wise. Annabeth uses her wits to solve problems quickly in tough situations. Both of these characters’ high intelligence levels helped them throughout both of the series. …show more content…

As seen in the first Percy Jackson movie, Annabeth is thought of as the best fighter in Camp Half-Blood. Her battle strategy skills, in part because of her mother, make her a very strong competitor. Hermione makes an extraordinary witch in part because her studious behavior helps her perfect spells. She is also extremely motivated and inspired by her peers, which drives her to be a better witch.
