God for Puritans is the most important thing for their religion, but Bradstreet and Edwards’ outlooks on God were completely different. For Bradstreet, God is a gentle caretaker who spreads peace and love. This care is heard as Bradstreet describes, ”The flame consumes my dwelling place/.And when I could no longer look/I blest his grace that gave and took/That laid my goods now in the dust ” (BRadstreet 11-12).
