One of Anne's characteristics is generosity. In act 1 scene 5 she gives presents to everyone. Now the gifts may not seem like a lot but when you have very small amounts of cash to no cash at all and even less to give it means a lot. Another example of how Anne was generous lies in act 2 scene 3, Anne was defending peter during a quarrel between Mrs. Frank and Mr. and Mrs.VanDaan. The quarrel was because of Mr.VanDaan stealing food even though they had insufficient food already and everyone was starving. Peter did volunteer to leave with his parents in the end though. With all of this happening she still was trying to give Peter a chance and keep people happy. If it wasn't for this morale would be low and people would be unsettled about their current predicament. In Act one scene 4 in Anne Frank's diary, she lists what everyone wants to do when the war is over. She is being optimistic when she is thinking they will get out of the war alive. But as we learned, only Mr.Frank lives. Also, when Anne Frank was captured by the Nazis she was optimistic. She looked on the bright side of things like how it was her first time in the sunlight after two years living cramp up in a hidden annex. In act 2 scene 4 in Anne's diary, it says, "... P.S. Please, please, Miep or Mr. Kraler, or anyone else. If you should find this diary, will you please keep it safe for me, because someday I hope..." She Wants them to keep it safe for when she comes back if she does come back. So she is optimistic that she will get out of the concentration camp. One could argue she was optimistic through the entire war. But there is still another trait about here that has helped her during all of this and that is the fact that she was
