Anne Frank Annelies Marie Frank, known as Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt Germany. Anne Frank lived with her mom Edith Frank, her dad Otto Frank, and her sister Margot Frank. They all moved to amsterdam during World War 2.
Anne Frank went into hiding with her family on July 6. Van Pels later join them a week later. Then lastly Fritz Pfeffer joined all of them on November in 1942. The fled the Nazi persecutions of the Jews. The Franks and the seven others hid in the attic of a small apartment building, the secret annex is what they called it.
Anne Frank was given a red checkered diary on June 12, 1942 from her parents on her thirteenth birthday. While in hiding and over the years she wrote all about her experiences and her wishes to a made up character named kitty. It is said she writes to “kitty” because she has no other friends to confide in and talk to about her feelings. Anne Frank also wrote great short stories in her diary. “I know I can write. A few of my stories are good, my descriptions of the secret annex are humorous, much of my diary is vivid and alive, but...it remains to be seen whether I really have talent.” Wrote Anne. Hiding in the secret annex, being forced to stay indoors at all times, and having to be silent isn’t easy. Anne writes, “The nicest part is being able to write down all of my thoughts and feelings, otherwise I’d absolutely suffocate.” While hiding from the Nazis in the annex Anne Frank writes more than just her feelings she writes many short stories. She dreams of becoming a writer one day after World War 2 is over. She also writes her favorite quotes down in a separate journal. She sometimes wrote reflections of her favorite quotes in her diary.
