Anne Frank is best known as a writer who was also a Jewish victim in the holocaust. She was a teen writer who went into hiding during the holocaust. She has a diary called The Diary of a Young Girl, and it is about her experiences in the holocaust. Anne Frank’s full name is Annelies Marie Frank and she was was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany to Edith and Otto Frank. Her father Otto Frank, was lieutenant for Germany in World War I. He later became a businessman in Germany and the Netherlands. Anne Frank also had a sister named Margot Frank who was 3 years older than her. Frank died in March 1945 in Lower Saxony, Germany. Anne and her family were liberal Jews meaning they did not observe all of the customs and traditions of Judaism. The Frank family lived in a community of Jewish and non-Jewish citizens of many different religions. On March 13, 1933 elections were held in Frankfurt and thats when Hitler and the Nazi Party won. They finally arrived after a 3 day trip. When arriving to the Auschwitz, the SS separated the men, women, and children. Those that were able to work were put into the camp, and those that were not able to work were immediately killed. Anne was forced to strip to be disinfected.
