Anne Frank’s Legacy There is nobody better at hide and seek than Anne Frank. The Franks lived in a confined space for almost two years with four other people, never once getting to go outside. I hope they weren't claustrophobic. Throughout this lengthy period Anne expressed her feelings through writing. Her journal was named Kitty, to keep her company.
It became hard for Anne, she was put into a segregated Jewish school, her father even had to give up his title in his business. On June 12, 1942 Anne got a diary for her birthday, this will later be the reason we know Anne Frank’s story. On July 5, 1942 Anne’s family were forced into hiding; it was no longer safe for their family to live in the outside world. She wrote in her diary “ The world will keep turning without me, and I can’t do anything to change events anyway.” The family spent two years in hiding, it wasn't till August 4, 1944 that the family was found by the police, they arrested everyone in hiding.
Anne passed the time by writing her life and feelings in her diary, she got for her 13th birthday, which was a month before her family went into hiding. She made her entries to addressing her diary to an imaginary friend named Kitty. Anne wrote about her life in hiding and impressions of everyone else in the “secret Annex” and her feelings of loneliness and frustration over the lack of privacy. She wrote about crushes on boys, arguments with her mother about her
For Anne, she is not allowed to go outside, see her friends, and do the many things every young girl enjoys. Instead, Anne is forced to hide in an annex with her family so they can have a chance to remain alive. If not, Anne and her family will be captured and then sent away from each other to dangerous, devastating camps that the Nazis held. Even though it would be hard for a lot of people to have to hide, Anne considers herself still fortunate for stilling being alive and the opportunities she has
Anne Frank and her family had to go into hiding during the Holocaust when Hitler was in power. Her family and the others had to stay in one place and stay quiet the whole time while in hiding. Anne’s dad bought her a diary on her thirteenth birthday and while in hiding she wrote about all the events that happened during her family’s hiding. Later on in life, when everyone but her dad passed away, Otto Frank, her dad, published her diary and made her dreams of being a writer. There were many people that had to go into hiding during the holocaust and while they were in hiding they had to keep themselves occupied.
She had to be in hiding with 7 people . Furthermore Anne Frank was a brave soul by being on 13 when she had to go into hiding with family. Also Meip help Anne and her family survive by getting ration books from dead people that did not use them. Anne's mother Edith Frank taught Anne while they were in hiding Anne could not live without education ten she would not be able to use the diary that
Anne Frank was locked up in a house for about 2 years, through that time she had to take more responsibilities than a normal kid. She and her family had to conserve food, water, energy, and heat. She also had to find ways to entertain herself during the long period where they had to be quiet so no one would hear them. Another responsibility that Anne had was trying to keep the peace.
The diary played a very significant role in Anne’s life, especially during the hiding period, since it helped letting out all the feelings which including fear, and anxiety. “The nicest part is being able to write down all my thoughts and feelings, otherwise I‘d absolutely suffocate.” Anne Frank said. “Not being able to go outside upsets me more than I can say, and I’m terrified our hiding place will be discovered and that we’ll be shot.” Did not only use it just as a normal diary which covered all of her experiences and thoughts while hiding inside the little tiny Secret Annex; Anne Frank also wrote short stories and kept all of her favorite quotes in her “best friend”.
Anne Frank is one of the most widely known victims of the Nazi Holocaust because of her diary that she kept during her time in the Secret Annex. The diary showed that Anne was very mature, creative, and had a sense of depth of emotion far beyond her age level. To pass the time, she wrote long entries in her diary, some filled with her despair - February 3, 1944, she wrote, “I’ve reached the point where I hardly care whether I live or die. The world will keep on turning without me, and I can’t do anything to change events anyway.” and others with hope - July 15, 1944, “It’s utterly impossible for me to build my life on a foundation of chaos, suffering and death.
Although Anne Frank was a crazy child who would have nightmares about being caught she grew up to be a mature teen who aspired for a better future. In the Diary of Anne Frank; A play written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett readers got a glimpse of what life was like living in the Annex. Anne had always lived in fear of being found by the Nazis but towards the end of the play this faded as she began to hope for a bigger and brighter future. Anne Frank always worried about her and her family being found by the Nazis. As she aged she got more mature and found hope in believing she would survive the war.
The Ups and Downs of Anne Frank Going through such a traumatic experience at such a young age must have been life changing for Anne Frank. How old she was when she underwent all of this pain and suffering is the most disturbing thing about her story in my opinion. I don’t think a thirteen year old girl would be emotionally or mentally able to handle everything that went on during the Holocaust. From going into hiding and leaving all the freedom she once knew, to sharing a space with eight others, I think Anne had it harder than any young child i’ve ever known, heard, or read about. Another reason why her age was an awful thing is she had to share a small confined space with a ton of adults, some of which thought they were very superior
The family would go days without eating, and have the constant feeling of being captured. While Anne and her family were in hiding workers from her father’s business helped them out while living in the annex. The workers provided food, clothes, and news of the events happening in the city of Amsterdam (Frank 17). Anne and her family along with the Van Pels attempted to salvage as much of their Jewish traditions as possible. The workers also brought books, newspapers, and magazines for the families to read.
Anne Frank’s Character Development Throughout the War Throughout World War II Anne Frank was kept hidden away in a 500 square foot building they came to call the Secret Annexe. Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Daans endured difficult times of hunger, thirst, and lack of privacy cornered by walls for over two years. Anne confided her observations and feelings of the hard times within her diary she named Kitty. By writing in her diary both before and after the war, one could visibly notice how Anne went into the Annexe as a juvenile and came out as a young adult.

Many people know the story of a girl named Anne Frank's experience during one of the biggest genocides known as the holocaust.
