Anne Frank’s Legacy There is nobody better at hide and seek than Anne Frank. The Franks lived in a confined space for almost two years with four other people, never once getting to go outside. I hope they weren't claustrophobic. Throughout this lengthy period Anne expressed her feelings through writing. Her journal was named Kitty, to keep her company.
During World War II, the German Reich marched across the entire continent of Europe. During the Holocaust, many people became discouraged and lost hope in the future of society. However, the excerpts from “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl,” written by herself, and “Hitler Youth: Growing up in Hitler’s Shadow” by Susan Campbell Bartoletti, prove that being positive and persevering is the best thing that someone can do. Whether hiding from the Nazis or already taken by them, the best response to have during conflict and chaos is maintaining a positive outlook on life and to persist through difficult times.
Prior to World War 2 Jewish people were the main family or culture that the Nazi’s been feeding off of and killing approximately 6,000 each day. Which led to 6.5 million Jews dead at the end of the war and a few survivors. Although one of these few survivors was Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, Diarist of one of the most famous diaries, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” World War 2 was a devastating event that changed how Jews lived because because they were said to be “Divergent.” How I felt about the events covered in the Diary of Anne Frank was dramatically depressing.
Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl living in Amsterdam during the occupation by the Nazis. She was forced to go into hiding above her father's work for two years to avoid prison. During her time in hiding, she kept a diary and wrote about her experience. Frank writes about her loving and compassionate family and also mentions how she has built new relationships with the other families in the house. In her diaries, Frank frequently emphasizes the value of family, emphasizing how her trials were made easier by the presence of those she loved who understood what she was going through.
It became hard for Anne, she was put into a segregated Jewish school, her father even had to give up his title in his business. On June 12, 1942 Anne got a diary for her birthday, this will later be the reason we know Anne Frank’s story. On July 5, 1942 Anne’s family were forced into hiding; it was no longer safe for their family to live in the outside world. She wrote in her diary “ The world will keep turning without me, and I can’t do anything to change events anyway.” The family spent two years in hiding, it wasn't till August 4, 1944 that the family was found by the police, they arrested everyone in hiding.
Anne Frank, the girl who helped many Jewish citizens temporarily hide from Nazis was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany. Anne was born into an upper middle class family, with one sister, Margot. At the age of 4 ½ Anne and her family moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands, at the same time when the Nazi’s gained control over Germany. In 1940 Anne’s family was trapped in Amsterdam from the German occupation of the Netherlands. Quickly the Jewish population escalated in July 1942, so then that lead to a result of the family hiding in their secret attic, behind a bookshelf.
Dealing With Conflict and Hard Times When it comes to dealing with tough times such as going to internment camps or hiding from Nazi soldiers so that they aren’t taken to centration camps, there are three important questions that come into play; What motivates people to move through hard times and moments? , What can people do to help others going through tough problems?, and Who can people go to to help them through tough times or conflict? I think that people can best respond to conflict by staying strong through courageousness and always having people in their life to talk to.
Anne Frank was born on 12 June 1929 in the German town of Frankfurt am Main. It was Annes birthday today and her parent got her a diary she said it was the nicest present she got. Since Anne was a jew she didnt had all the privileges other people had in her diary she made a list about the thing they couldnt do or how they had to do certain
Her father Otto Frank served as a lieutenant in World War I, and later became a businessman. Anne lived in Amsterdam in hiding for 2 years. On her 13 birthday she got a diary that she wrote in while in hiding. When she was 15 her and her family was sent back to the concentration camp. But her diary had gotten left behind in the annex.
Anne Frank went into hiding in July of 1942 to escape the Nazis who were lead by Adolf Hitler. Anne Frank and her family were concealed in a secret annex for two years with only one other family, the Daans. Life for Anne Frank before she went into hiding she lived a normal oblivious life, she had friends, and was liked by boys. The day her mother got a letter to report to a work camp, her life changed completely. I don’t think it is very easy to compare our lives with someone like Anne Franks.
Anne Frank’s Character Development Throughout the War Throughout World War II Anne Frank was kept hidden away in a 500 square foot building they came to call the Secret Annexe. Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Daans endured difficult times of hunger, thirst, and lack of privacy cornered by walls for over two years. Anne confided her observations and feelings of the hard times within her diary she named Kitty. By writing in her diary both before and after the war, one could visibly notice how Anne went into the Annexe as a juvenile and came out as a young adult.
“The Monkey’s Paw” is a short supernatural story, by W.W. Jacobs, published in 1902. The short story teaches people that fate can rule people’s lives and that you don’t want to interfere with it, which is shown through the story’s events, setting, and character interactions. First of all, the events in the story shows that when you mess with fate, terrible things will happen. For example, in the story, Mr. White wished for “two-hundred pounds” to “clear off the house” (Jacobs 55).
The 1940s were a crucial time all over the world with hardships and wars going on for years. Within these wars, two little girls that have been apart of it their whole lives, have shared their experiences through a diary and a book of stories. The Diary of Anne Frank is about a young jewish girl named Anne Frank, who has to go into hiding with her family in order to not get caught and taken away by the Nazis in Amsterdam, and while in hiding, records her experiences and thoughts into her diary. Farewell to Manzanar is a book based on a girl named Jeanne Wakatsuki who is seven years old at the time, and gets taken away with her family to Manzanar encampments, as the U.S. government doesn’t want to risk any Japanese Americans possibly giving up information to the Japanese as they are at war with them. Anne Frank and Jeanne Wakatsuki have many similarities and differences throughout their lifetimes on the run from the war.
She was a girl whose life got turned upside down because she was jewish but finally showed everyone that a girl so small can do something so big that even the biggest people are scared to do. Anne left the legacy from her diary. The early life of Anne was very vigilance. Anne Frank grew up in Holland but was born in Germany in the morning of June 12th 1929 (Metzer 2).
It was on her 13th birthday that she got a diary. In her diary, she wrote about her friendships, crushes and her academic performance at school. Anne had an older sister named Margot, and they attended a Jewish school in Amsterdam. In this diary, the Franks moved to Netherlands from Germany because they feared prosecution. After the Germans invaded the Netherlands in 1940, the Franks, another family called the van Daans and Mr Russell hid in a small secret annex above Otto Frank’s, Anne’s father’s office.
