Her relationships to the adults in her life, her journey from girlhood to womanhood, and her response to life’s struggles are affected by many lies. She is a brave girl and doesn’t give up, no matter the circumstances. Annemarie’s relationships to the adults in her life are affected by many lies. Many of her family members keep secrets from her, for example, when Mr. Johansen asks Uncle Henrik if it was a good day for fishing, but Annemarie knows that everyday day is a good day to fish.
Margot, Anne, and Peter are Jews. They are all teenagers. Margot hardly talks. Anne talks a lot. Peter barley talks.

In the novel Number the Stars by Lois Lowry, Ellen’s father wanted her to be a teacher but she thought she would like to go to acting school. Ellen had proven her abilities in the school play and had played the role of the Dark Queen. Annemarie had praised her saying that she was a "great as the Dark Queen" and that she “should be an actress when you grow up." pg 54
In the book “Number the Stars”, Annemarie faces a lot of lies and truth that affected the story. She was forced to be brave and trust her parents and adults to make her feel safe by lies. Our main hero Annemarie slowly goes from girlhood to adulthood. In order to make Annemarie feel safe, the parents and relatives in the story had to make code words and tell lies to Annemarie so she wouldn’t worry and be as brave as a lion when the time was right.
Anne Frank had many complicated relationships, the latter being in the Secret Annexe. She had both good and bad relations with her family, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel. With Mrs. Frank, Anne had a somewhat rocky relationship. They often fought and found one another ignorant. Anne thought she was a bad parent, and often hurt her mother’s feelings.
