One of the aims of Higher Educational Institutions is to accomplish results in services for the customers and terms of products and other stake holders. No substantial step has been taken to maintain the quality of education and to enhance the efficiency of these institutions. The quality of education in India has decreased manifolds due to the exceptional rise in the number of educational institutions in our country. Students studying in these institutions are also facing a variety of problems and for them it has become difficult to succeed in their lives in the absence of quality education in such institutions. As compared to India, foreign countries appear more vigilant for the standardization of their educational institutions. Therefore, in foreign countries, evaluation of educational institutions is done from time to time and needful is done to raise the standard of educational institution. In India this system is still lacking penetration.

5. NEED OF THE STUDY

Assessment of educational institutions all the time helps the prospective students to take the decision; whether to join a particular institute or not for his/her study. Although a student’s decision should not be driven completely based on ranking of the institution, still the ranking information gives a fair idea about the institution, its study environment and the future scope.
