A review of the different perceptions teachers has for parents, and parents have for teachers, in regards to the shared responsibility over a child with learning difficulties. This article looks into examining what each of the partnership assumes the others ‘parental role’ is regarding their shared student, and how potential tension between teacher-parent relations could be lessened into something more productive for the student.
This article aims to understand two, their expectations, the reality of it and how the group might come together to aid the student. The parents will be a (hopefully) major support in helping the IEP student, and as such being able to understand their concerns, perceptions, and overall how their child will be taken care of is vital to success. For this case scenario, this will be used to help the student learn both in the course room and at home through supplemented technology.
