1. A. “What we hope is that by taking the time to pause and reflect on their use of digital devices such as phones and computers, people will be more aware of the impact,” Mann said. “We hope that from that newfound awareness, people will try to put their digital devices aside more regularly, for however long it takes to recharge themselves and to reconnect with those around them (qtd. In Frost)”.

Martin and Deloatch in their article The Four Negative Sides of Technology are trying to bring the awareness that, although technology brings us many advances and improvements in life; we need also to be aware that there are many down sides and avoidances needed in the same technology that has been portrayed as a luxurious beneficial tool that’s at the tip of our fingers. E. This will be useful to me as it will show that although there are many benefits we get from having technology so accessible, there are also down falls and things we need to watch out for to keep us from separating from actual reality.
3. A. “As children have more of their communication through electronic media, and less of it face-to-face they begin to feel more lonely and depressed (Hatch p.24).

In Kristina E. Hatch’s paper Determining the Effects of Technology on Children she writes to inform that even though children can develop forms of communications through technology, they lose the ability to communicate with others when they are faced with an actual human. With that, the long-term effect is depression. E. I will be able to use this to show that when children are pulled away from actual social interaction with other children they become depressed and feel alone. The do not understand why they are by themselves and they then lead to have little to no social skills and are unable to adequately interact when brought into a social environment.
4. A. “Young children require 2-3 hours per day of active rough and tumble play to achieve adequate sensory stimulation to their vestibular, proprioceptive and tactile systems. Tactile stimulation received through touching, hugging and play is critical for the development of praxis, or planned movement patterns” (Rowan).
