Antigone is a literal work by Jean Anouilh. It is a play about a young woman named Antigone who comes back to Thebes to prevent the prophecy about her brothers from happening .When she got back, one of her brothers ,Eteocles, had been properly buried while the other , Polynices, body was left to rot under the king’s deterrent. Antigone undertook the mission to bury her brother knowing very well that if she was caught, she would be killed. The guards caught Antigone after a few days and took her to the king who at first tried to clear Antigone’s name by telling her to denounce and to act like nothing happened.
