Antigone challenged the government by breaking the laws that people in power made. Also, she fought for her father and brother rights. In every play Antigone, defends somebody that is close to her and that she had loved. To emphasize, Antigone had a different point of view of the things that were happening around her. As a matter of fact, Antigone had a very distinguished way to interpret the things that were happening around her; differently to the other woman in those times. As a result of Antigone being different to the other woman in those times caused her trouble. Following this, Antigone portrayed herself as a strong, feminist, decisive person. To begin with, in the play of Antigone, she wanted to give her brother a proper memorial. On the contrary, she needed help, but not all the people were willing to help her, because it was against the laws that the elders made. As shown in the play, Antigone asked her sister, Ismene for help, to give their brother the proper memorial, and she said “But think of the danger! Think what Creon will do!”, these were the keywords to let Antigone that she was alone in everything she wanted to accomplish. In fact, Antigone knew she was alone, so she decided to everything by herself. Thus, it was a symbolic, being brave to do the things that were wrong according to the King. Consequently, these actions were not approved by the government nor the King, so she was punished. Antigone actions were not good in the eyes of the King, but for her it was. Consequently, Antigone was a good example to others, but not for the rest. Not only because she had the courage to go against the government, Antigone had the bravery to go against her uncle. Therefore her actions were honorable, because she was strong enough to be idolized by the people that wanted to do the right things, which they believed it was right. Furthermore, Antigone actions were reasonable, because all she wanted was to give everybody a “happy ending”, even though she did, she died making the souls of her brothers’ rest in peace in the way they wanted to. In addition, if Antigone ended up alive in the stories she could lead a revolutionary strike. No matter what she did in the stories, she would end up dead, because the community were afraid of the King. Besides, she didn’t had any family alive that would support her in her doings. She only had left her sister Ismene, in the story written by Sophocles, but she did not applaud her actions.
