Antisocial Personality Disorder, or ASPD for short, is condition that causes you to lack empathy and regards for others. This disorder causes a lot of issues, and causes you to get into some trouble, and can be a very big problem with your life if not tried to be treated. It’s also, a very difficult disorder to treat. It’s also, usually happens around childhood. This essay, is to help you realize what ASPD can do to you and how you act when you have it, and what causes it to happen. Antisocial Personality Disorder, (ASPD), can cause you to do a lot of bad things. This disorder can cause a person to have a very difficult life. For example, the text states this: “People with antisocial personality disorder are more likely to engage in risk taking behaviors, dangerous activities, and criminal acts.” ASPD often occurs around childhood, and is usually caused, because the child has been abused. Usually when a child is abused, they learn to treat their own kids that way. They also, tend to treat others with this kind of behavior, which is why they usually don’t have good relationships with other people. Also, the text states this: “Kids who grow up in disorganized and neglectful homes also lack the opportunities to develop a strong sense of discipline, self control, and empathy for others.” ASPD is a very difficult disorder to treat, due to numerous reasons. Most people with this disorder, often don’t reach out to people to get treatment as well. The text also states this: “While people with ASPD often come into contacts with the criminal justice system, research suggests that incarceration and other punitive measures are largely ineffective, since people with the condition, are usually unresponsive to punishment. The text also states that there
