Worship The church of Satan is a religious organization founded in the 1960’s by Anton Szandor Lavey who was the churches highest priest until his death in the 1970’s. Although this religious group is called the church of Satan, this church does not worship the devil or any other religion. Satanist are atheists, they see the universe as being indifferent so all morals and values are subjective human contractions. In addition, their position is self-centered they view themselves individually as the most important person (God), so they sometimes will worship themselves for this reason. According to Lavey's, traditional religions were fundamentally hypocritical and dangerously inhibited physical and emotional needs that were vital to humans. In addition, Anton wrote The Satanic Bible, which is a collection of essays, rituals, and observations. This book is considered the most important document that influences Satanism. This document is composed of four books: The Book of Satan, The Book of Lucifer, The Book of Belia and The Book of Leviathan. The book of Lucifer hold the ten commandments, the golden rule, and also promotes Epicureanism. The book of Lucifer holds most of the philosophy behind Satanism, In the book of Belia and the book of Leviathon explains details of rituals and magic.
