Strong. Determined. Leader. These are the qualities that describe who I am and what I have done in my community. My community to me is not only where I live but a place to express myself and interact with others. As an incoming freshman, I viewed PCTI as a school of opportunities, I had heard so many stories and great things about PCTI but never did I imagine to find my true passion here. I applied to the school of Human Resources and Child Development without knowing the impact it would have on my life. Being part of Child Development has taught me to work in groups and learn to work with challenging personalities. I have also learned to work with challenging behaviors but through the challenges I have managed to complete given tasks . Being part of Child Development has not only help me learn how to work through challenging situations but ,it has also given me the opportunity to discover my passion for children. Many shook their heads when I told them my goal; to become a preschool teacher. Of course I myself had doubts, however my doubts soon vanished once I started volunteering at a child care center in my community. The best way I can be inspire to teach is through this following quote “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality”-Warren G.
