1. Treaty of Paris: The Treaty of Paris was what that ended the Revolutionary War. This was the formal document that shaped America’s independence. American had their independence as far west as the Mississippi River, but agreed to pay debts owed to British merchants and the prevention of persecution of British Loyalists in return. There would be no more fighting and no more fatalities caused by Britain. 2. Boston Tea Party: The dumping of British cargo angered the British and intensified the animosity between Britain and the colonies. This could also have been a way to manipulate Americans who had no real passion for independence. Townshend Act: The Townshend Acts led to protests in the American colonies. The colonists felt that the Townshend Acts were unfair and stopped buying British goods. This led to further friction between the American colonists and Britain, which soon led to the American Revolution. 5. Battle of Saratoga: The Patriot victory at Saratoga is often seen as the turning point in the war. Not only did it boost the American’s reputation, but it also convinced potential allies, such as France, that American could win the war. (which may have caused the France to send aid) 6. Though this was not a major incident where there were many fatalities, the battle was a significant failure because the goal was not carried out.
