1. Introduction
APK Projects has a vision and mission that strives for customer satisfaction through providing a prompt and efficient service. APK is an affirmative close corporation and its staff comprises of previously disadvantaged workforce. They provide the following services: domestic and commercial plumbing, plant hire and civil excavations and installations of pipe work. The issues that they are faced with, is the high wage increases and the slow payment process from the larger companies. These issues may affect their marketing activities.
I was involved in creating a website for APK Projects and although the above issues were a problem, APK has only been held back by payments to Shirl Designs to initiate the website.

They should access these aspects and work towards converting their weaknesses into strengths and their threats into opportunities. This will make APK Projects build a stronger company.
The following is a SWOT analysis of APK Projects:
Strengths:
• Arthur Peter King is the brand image of APK Projects although he does have skilled plumbers and staff members who represent the brand; he is the main brand image of APK Projects. Arthur King transfers as a positive branding icon to his staff members.
• The factor that APK Projects bases their appeal to their consumer’s is their excellent quality service.
• APK Projects does not have a geographical scope as they go to wherever there is work. Their scope is from Mandeni to Mount Frere, Port St. Johns to Witbank and Secunda.
• APK Projects’ success driver is the managing director, Mr King, because of his knowledge in the field, his brand image and reputation.
• APK’s competitive advantage is that they are able to marshal teams at short notice to wherever the need arises and their service is of the highest quality to their
