That fool of a god Zeus did not intend to offend that brother of mine, Apollo. He had simply been enjoying his latest affair with Cassandra, the silly mortal who refused my brother. But, when Apollo learned of this, he was more than outrageous and retaliated by punishing the world with a deep and sickening plague. Nobody on Earth stayed healthy for long; despite Aceso's furious efforts to rid the disease, it was only a matter of time before every human was desperately praying to all the gods and goddesses for a miracle. For, to ensure that I would find Apollo, Zeus had banished me from Mount Olympus until I did so. I thought this rather cruel as A. I wasn’t the one who upset Apollo and B. Being stuck with viciously sick people on Earth is extremely uncomfortable, but, nonetheless, understanding the direness of the situation and eager to prove to the gods how I could solve this easily, I accepted.
