I believe that Appalachian State University is the place for me. It is ideal for my career and educational goals in the field of business. If I were admitted I believe that the students at Appalachian could learn a lot about accepting diversity from me.
I want to have a career in the business of basketball and I believe Appalachian State University is the ideal university to prepare me for this. Josh Level was one of the top high school basketball players in North Carolina before he collapsed on the court in February 2013. The Josh Level Classic is a charity basketball game to raise money for the Josh Level Foundation. The Josh Level Foundation was started by Josh’s parents to raise money for anti- bullying and AEDs in all non professional athletic facilities statewide. I believe this is one of the top All Star basketball events in the country as far as overall talent and benefit to the community. In the first two years of the Classic, 25+ current or future Division one basketball players have participated including some of the nation's top 10 players. This year I am working to make this the best year yet. I am enjoying the process of putting this event together and it is teaching me a lot about many things behind the scenes in the sports industry, which I am interested in as a career. I do wish that there was no such thing as the Josh Level Classic because I wish that Josh was still here with us, but I believe the opportunity to work on organizing an event of this caliber is amazing. This is an incredible way to expose me to the sports industry on top of honoring the life of Josh
