Discoveries and inventions are not born from nothingness. If necessity is the mother of invention, an apt father should be a combination of curiosity, scientific temperament and research skills. With the firm belief that I possess these skills, I aspire to fulfill my dream of pursuing advanced research in an application-oriented field, by obtaining my Master’s degree in Electrical engineering with a specialization in Signal Processing. Firstly, I designed a cost effective temperature-controlled baby incubator, and incorporated an auditory system to capture and send maternal heart sounds. Secondly, I devised a wearable galvanic skin response meter using fuzzy logic and Case Based Reasoning (CBR) for sweat level monitoring to detect anxiety and stress levels. After analyzing numerous patient records to understand the usage behavior based on age, sex, occupation, etc., I wrote a paper describing my research. My undergraduate capstone project focused on replacing the repetitive pick and place motion done by humans by an automatic material handling system. The proposed solution uses image-processing technique along with a robotic arm using a universal gripper to classify and sort the objects on a running conveyor belt. Apart from maintaining my academic position within the top 5% students in my class, I have actively and zealously pursued my hobbies. I worked for a non-governmental organization - Make A Difference (MAD) and held major positions. I was involved in tutoring underprivileged kids, managing finances and counseling 11th and 12th grade kids towards a chosen career goal. In addition to community service, I have also been an active basketball player and a singer. My interpersonal skills and leadership qualities helped me sustain through the varied roles and emerge out as a team
