Application Essay To Pursue A Career In The Naval Academy

Time is the most valuable and limited resource on this planet. It can be wasted, but never recovered. For this reason, I have always aimed for the stars with my aspirations, and my career in addition to my academic goals are no less optimistic.
It was almost eleven years ago now, when I first laid my gaze upon the Naval Academy for the first time. I visited Annapolis with my family and grandfather, who attended the academy in the 1950s after being nominated by Congressman Peter Frelinghuysen. My grandfather has always been enthusiastic about sharing stories with us from his time at the academy and in the Navy, so when he got a chance to show us around, he made sure not to leave out any detail of the yard. From Bancroft Hall, to the tomb of John Paul Jones, the academy left me slack-jawed and wide-eyed. It was mesmerizing and left a lasting legacy within me that is still present today. Since that first visit, I have had the pristine honor to actually live in the life of a midshipmen for a day, thanks to the Candidate Visit Weekend program. In addition, I would like to run for office in the later years of my life, after a career in the Navy. My ultimate aspiration is to become the President of the United States and leave a lasting legacy through leadership and service, for many centuries to come. I believe I can accomplish this because, I have always been one to peruse the highest position possible in almost everything I do. In school, I am the Senior Class President. In Boy Scouts, I am an Eagle Scout and previously the Senior Patrol Leader for my troop. At Boys State, I was elected the Nationalist State Party Chairman.
