As high school is coming to completion, I have established a variety of goals for my future. These objectives range from personal, artistic, academic, and career goals. First, it is my intention to find a job near home in southern Illinois. I wish to stay in this area, particularly because this is where I grew up, and I would enjoy living near family. Further in the future, I also hope to get married and start a family of my own. Family is a major priority in my life and is the center of the majority of my personal goals. In addition to personal ambitions, I have numerous artistic goals as well. As an artist, I am confident that there are always areas where I can improve. I aspire to further enhance these skills that I already possess. Also, one aspect that I love about art is that it covers an array of different mediums. I want to challenge myself to keep an open mind, trying different and unfamiliar techniques. I am eager to attend Southeastern Illinois College in order to obtain my associates degree in secondary education. Art education is my anticipated college major. Next, I intend on transferring to Southern Illinois University to earn my bachelors degree. I am also considering minoring in English. As a student one of my goals has been and will always be to perform my best. I intend to extend this work ethic to my college education as well. Likewise, I am also pursuing my career goals. My dream is to become an art teacher, preferably in a high school setting. Specifically, one objective would be to obtain a job in a smaller school where I can provide students with individual attention. I am excited to begin a career that I am certain that I will love.
