The significant actions that I have decided to take throughout my life have played a crucial role in my self-development as a person. The choices that I have decided to make have truly taught me the meaning behind learning from experience. There are some actions that have proven to be positive throughout my time at a university; one of these significant actions is my commitment to running Cross-Country at a university level. Before transferring to Texas A&M University, I had the great privilege of running at my previous institution of higher education. After thinking about it for a long time, I made my ultimate decision in taking up the great opportunity that was set out in front of me. That is one of the best actions I could of taken, because not only did it help me become better at the sport that I love most, but it also taught me key characteristics in discipline, strong work ethic, commitment, leadership, and taught me how to put other’s needs before my own. Being part of an NCAA Division II program encouraged me to stand up and take responsibility for all my teammates this is how I learned the importance of serving others and putting people’s needs before my own. Practices were held twice a day, so this showed me the importance of time management.
