From its countless of libraries to study rigorous classes to the joyous atmosphere at Camp Randall Stadium where thousands of Badgers cheer on the football team to its hundreds of clubs and majors show that the opportunities and ways to achieve success are countless, though the “Wisconsin Idea”, here at UW—Madison. I always felt compelled to adventure because of my curiosity and at University of Wisconsin—Madison, I am able to explore and satisfy my desire to scour the campus for new adventures through the countless of opportunities that this school has to offer.

One of the most compelling reasons to attend this university is for study abroad opportunities. Knowing that UW—Madison has the opportunity to give back to the community through a course that is supplementary to my major is very important to me because it would give me an opportunity to both better the community and myself by learning things that cannot be fully understood in a classroom. I am aware that currently there is a service learning course in the nursing department which includes learning about dementia and helping those with the disease. I find this interesting because it allows for a different experience than relying on only books and lectures. Through my various internships in high school, I was able to learn information that I would not have learned in my school and I feel like this course is very similar because it allows me to expand my horizons and learn about biology in a format outside of the classroom.
