Biomes are places that share similar climate and life form. Biomes are also referred to ecosystems. There are five main groups of biomes: forest, desert, grassland, tundra and aquatic. I chose to do aquatic biomes because there are a lot of uses that this particular biome provides. The Aquatic biome covers three quarters of our plant, there is a wide variety of marine wildlife and many different plants, corals and algae. Being one of the largest biomes, the aquatic biome varies in temperature due to the amount of sun light. There is a layer on the top of the water (thermo cline) that can change temperature suddenly but the water underneath the water barely changes so little that the life under the ocean is rarely affected. Because the sun rays doesn’t hit the water deep down in the ocean it doesn’t get warm but the top surface can get direct sun light so the water can warm up. Marine animals that live in the ocean include dolphins, whales and many kinds of marine fish. Crustaceans are also another group of marine wild life which include lobster, crabs and shrimp live in the ocean such as lobsters, crabs and shrimp also live in the ocean, another group are mollusc such as squid and octopuses. The blue whale is a large marine mammal, the blue whale is the largest animal alive to grow up to the length of 100 ft (30.48 meters) and can weigh up to 150 tons (152407.036 kg). Even though the blue whale is the largest animal it mainly feeds on krill. But whales didn’t always live in peace, whaling is a form of hunting whales for their products like meat, oil and blubber.
