In the Greek and Roman governments, they rose from the bottom and became one the biggest empires of all time. In this paper, the arête and Homeric ideal will be explained along with the individual honors and collective honors of the Greek society. Also, the Republic of Rome and how citizens attributed to the Roman Government and developed during the Struggle of orders. Next, in the book “The Roman Government” it explains how the Roman Government began its downfall and how people used glory to help them.

At first, they compromised to where everyone could live an attainable life style. As the Greek continued they were more of a bunch of thinkers as they took their time and they took too much time and the Peloponnesian war broke out. The Romans didn’t want to make the same mistake as the Greeks so they were more of doers. They made a compromise which made it easier to make sure the life of the Roman Republic strengthens. The Romans then moved forward and took a path to conquer cities and capture people. The first Triumvirate was made up of 3 people: Pompeius who was a general, Crassus who was a business man, and Julius Caesar who was a consul. Caesar had his niece marry Pompeius so they could be close so, they didn’t battle each other. Crassus was the first one to die among them all and when Pompeius lost Caesars niece. Caesar made his way into Great Britain and Russia and killed off some ethnic groups to make sure they knew that he was there and not to get on his bad sad. Rome than over through Caesar as a consul and put Pompeius in power. Pompeius then tried to get Caesar to drop his army and come back home but, Caesar wouldn’t do that because he knew people hated him and would kill him off. So, Caesar told Rome that he would come back home and but when he does he is bringing his army. When Pompeius heard that he then fled across the ocean so he could prepare an army. Caesar chased after him and met him there and they fought a battle, but Caesar didn’t kill Pompeius. Pompeius fled to Egypt and when he got there, they knew he was a wanted man. The Egyptians killed him and put his head in a box. When Caesar got to Egypt, they presented him with that very box and Caesar didn’t like that, so he fought the Egyptians until he met the queen.
