An archetype is a typical model or example of something. They are recurring images, patterns, and images that can be seen in myths. Common archetypes in myths include heroes, shadows, mentors, and a temptress’. There are also many personality archetypes. Gods of myth can be classified into these archetypes, as can you and I. Though I can be classified as many different archetypes, the three archetypes that represent me best are caregiver, intellectual, and creative. My most prominent archetype is caregiver. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always had a passion for art. Visual arts more specifically. I love to sketch, and I have recently taken up painting. Something about drawing and being able to create has always relaxed me. Art is a great way to express yourself when you are unable to do so through words. I, myself, have always found it difficult to communicate my feelings through words. Art allows me to use my thoughts and emotions to create something beautiful. Though I am a visual artist and I am untalented in the other arts, I do appreciate them. I enjoy going to plays and listening to music. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the piano, hopefully, that is something I get to do soon. Aside from expression, I love the aesthetic of it all. Art is just so beautiful, I must surround myself with it. I find it difficult to not be captivated by the allure of art. Divine beings who fit with the creative archetype are The Nine Muses and Ptah. The Nine Muses were Greek Goddesses created to provide inspiration, artistry, knowledge, and music to the world. The areas of expertise for the muses were epic poetry, history, lyric poetry, song and elegiac poetry, tragedy, hymns, dance, comedy, and astronomy. Ptah was the Egyptian god of craftsmanship, pottery, and creation. He is believed to have created everything from artifacts to even other deities. He is also responsible for creating the heavens and the earth. His name is thought to mean sculptor. In addition to being the god of creation, he was a patron of the arts, protector of stonecutters, sculptors, blacksmiths, architects, boat builders, artists, and
