In life some feel the need to prove something to others. That they are better, stronger, or even more intelligent. Whatever the case may be people will go through extreme measures to prove themselves. But who do we really need to prove anything to? Is it our parents?

However, time is not the only criteria in need of consideration; in fact, people are gifted in multiple ways, but people do not take the time to pursue their niches. Therefore, the 10,000 hour rule allows people to take the time to evolve their natural gifts. Some may argue that, in reality, having 10 years of practice makes a substantial difference in skill development.
Is college worth it? Recently people have debated endlessly over this juggernaut of a question. Would you say that spanking is appropriate? Many people say yes, because it has been used as a means of punishment for so long; however, more and more people are beginning to realize that corporal punishment may lead to even more problems in the future. Many factors can contribute to your opinion on spanking, such as your ethnic group and religion. For example, African Americans and people who translate the bible literally are more likely to use spanking as a means of punishment (206). There are many good arguments for both sides; however, it is clear that spanking is not necessary and can be avoided completely More people in the United States are beginning to realize how ineffective and dangerous spanking is.

One of, if not the most important issue regarding child welfare is the role parents play in their children’s lives. A major issue facing the protection of children is lack of proper parenting education. According to research by the National Children’s Alliance “More than 3 million American children are investigated for child maltreatment each year. " The site also states that “Nearly 700,000 children are abused in the U.S annually" and even more alarming statics is that “In 2016, an estimated 1,750 children died from abuse and neglect in the United States.” A major part of this issue stems from parents who overwhelmed or are underprepared to be parents lacking the proper resources and parental knowledge to take care of their children.
