Right now Florida and 41 other states has the "shall-issue" law which allow people who meet the minimum requirement to get a concealed weapon permit. You must be the legal age, have not committed a felony within 3 year period of submitting the application, no metal illness, and few other important requirement. These few rules sound simple enough, but people are still getting around rules and using firearms for the wrong reasons. In This paper I will be discussing the con side of having a concealed weapon permit. This paper will go over why it's important to follow gun safety at home and on the street.
When we examine how guns are used in today culture is not for a force a good anymore. When you turn on the news you always see some innocent teen murder by a coward law enforcement officer. Studies already show that police officers responsible for the deaths were neither charged with any crime, nor taken to trial (). Police are supposed to make us feel safe, but instead we have fear for life because we do know if it's going to taking away from us. Most accidents that happen at home are from guns are not put away safely, or they was not using proper gun safety. When I started this research for this policy paper I found some statistics that stated that 1 or more guns in the home are related to 2.7 and 4.8 fold increase from suicide or homicide (). Why is that? Most gun holders do not put their guns in a proper place and away from anyone who is trying cause harm.
