In my opinion, I think Caesar is a better leader because he cared for his country and did not want to be the leader of Rome for his personal gain. Although the Senate thought Caesar was fighting and conquering Gaul and many other countries for himself to become the highest office, he was not. In my opinion, and many others, Caesar would not have fought Gaul for eight years for himself. Caesar spent many years trying to make Rome a better place. Caesar also conquered many countries to make Rome a better and a more civilized country. Many people thought of Caesar as a King, or in better words, a God. Caesar had many enemies. Pompey and Cassius were just a couple of them. Cassius had never really liked Caesar, but Pompey was really close to Caesar. Pompey then decided he wanted to kill Caesar because he was breaking many rules. When Caesar went to Egypt, they greeted him with a gift. The gift was Pompey’s head. After Pompey was killed, his statue was taken down. Caesar even replaced the statue of Pompey because he still thought that Pompey had represented Rome well when he was alive. She even went on to have a love affair with Caesar. Caesar and Cleopatra actually had a child together. They had a son and they named him Caesarion, after Caesar.
