Opening Statement: Is college worth the investment? Is a question that everyone has to face at some point in their life. But not a lot of people truly consider the question. Most people think they have no choice but to go to college. My name is Ava Gershenhorn, and I am here today to show you all that there is a choice. I am here to tell you why I believe college is a bad investment. Cost has to do with a huge part of it. Besides the debt that everyone gets into, the cost is making people rethink their decisions to go to college. People are dropping out of college, with one of the main reasons being the cost. Now, I don’t believe education to be the problem here, but the way college is doing it is making many people wonder if their thousands of dollars should be spent on this cause. The second thing is value. Why should this college be worth my time and money? Is this school going to teach me enough to where it is worth every cent I am paying?
