Students can begin to question whether or not to commit suicide if they have weapons available. Some students may even decide to commit suicide. If it is hard for a roommate imagine how a parent will feel after knowing his/her child has committed suicide. For instance, Harvard Injury Control Research Center mentions, “85 percent of attempted suicides using guns are fatal, compared to only 2 percent of attempts by far more common method, drug overdose. If guns are readily available, many more suicide attempts will likely succeed” (qtd. in Skorton and Altschuler 630). In other words, the majority of suicide attempts tend to be lethal due to the fact that weapons are available inside college campuses. If weapons are allowed inside college campuses most suicide attempts will not be attempts anymore but fatalities. Suicides can be avoided if college campuses ban weapons inside. For example, most of the time when weapons are utilized, suicides tend to succeed (Students for Gun-Free Schools 635). Specifically, suicide attempts can become fatalities if guns are utilized. If students have weapons inside campuses others can steal them to commit suicide. Suicide attempts could become frequent if college campuses begin to allow weapons
