Currently at the Dining Commons, there is a general policy which prohibits students from bringing in either outside food or drinks. This over placed policy infringes on the rights of the students as the policy prevents students from dining together with their classmates who simply crave to eat outside food at a common dining table. Furthermore, the Dining Commons losses out on potential customers by preventing outside influence on the restaurant. Potential customers consist of those with food allergies, those with other restaurant’s food, and those who wish to bring in a diet-friendly drink to aid their workout regimen. Among these lost potential customers, the prevention of bringing in allergy friendly food is the most heart drenching.

While the Dining Commons does offer “No Whey!”, which provides students with allergies a safe dinning alternative, allergies still prohibit as much as thirty percent of adults from eating various foods, according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. “No Whey!” does not have the capability to adhere to the restrictions of over approximately thirty …show more content…

Currently the restaurants, Starbucks and Chick-Fil-A, presumably pay some kind of rent each month to the school in order to have their store remain on campus. If students were allowed to bring in outside food and drinks from these establishments, the price of rent for these places would be increased, as the demand of their food would also increase. Moreover, the demand for the food would increase because students would be authorized to partake in these company’s products in more locations ultimately expanding their potential business opportunities. Enacting on these proposals would yield a larger capital for the school and then this larger capital pool can be allocated to cover a downside to permitting students to bring in outside food and
