Many arguments have occurred because of this "urban myth”. The meaning of this is that none of the arguments made by people trying to prove or disprove Atlantis's existence are helping to get any closer to actually proving of atlantis if it is real or not. If one side comes up with a hypothesis the other side condemns it and everyone forgets about it. Personally, I don’t believe that it is real because could they not use a sonar on the atlantic ocean floor to see any “lost empire” is actually down there? If this legend was true wouldn’t the survivors pass down saying they survived the “historic event” of the legendary civilization falling down into the sea telling their kids and their grandkids and so on or actually they could just record the event so the human races, people, aliens etc. could know that this actually happened instead of letting the future kind guessing if this really happened or not? People do not actually put some thought into the idea of atlantis they just make a rationalization and just forget everything else. They’re basically sheep because they follow the crowd when it comes to thinking.They aren’t actually being independent and think for themselfs. Many people Dismissed atlantis as a urban myth of a volcanic eruption in the island of Thira. Yes of course the volcano erupted and destroyed the island and may caused a small earthquake but there’s no possible way that alone could destroy a whole continent it’s scientifically impossible.
