Throughout the years people have looked for different outlets to blame a catastrophe or bad event on. Vaccines are the outlet worried moms all over America have chosen to blame Autism on. This is not backed by strong evidence, but is sadly believed by people today. MORE STUFF One key factor that makes people question is the coincidental rise in autism rates along with the increasing amount of vaccines given to children today. A lot of the neurological diseases we see today were not present before vaccines. This was the “foot” in the door for the mom speculating the cause for autism in their children. They saw a possible cause for their child’s inconvenience and sparked a controversy. Are vaccines really safe to give our children? Would something that is so good for society, in that it prevents us from contracting some of the major illnesses we used to die from, really be considered as unnecessary? MORE STUFF.
A major study that sparked most of this controversy was when 12 researchers studied 12 different cases. These cases were said to have shown the symptoms of autism after receiving a vaccine to prevent measles, Mumps, and rubella(MMR). The children had digestive system problems that were in alignment with a cause of neurological deficits, specifically autism spectrum disorders. So much of these viruses at one time may be what is causing the pooling of the viruses in the intestines.
