It is near the end of Black History Month, but that does not stop the fight for progress from continuing. If you are an individual who has been involved in positive change, keep it up. If not, you can start today. And just remember, progress is never easy, but pushing for positive change will change the lives of many. Do the right thing. Man takes down the Confederate flag. A Black Lives Matter protestor takedown of the Confederate Flag is slowly becoming viral on social media. At a recent demonstration in Charleston, South Carolina, Muhiyidin d'Baha, an African-American man took down the flag, which was caught live. He was charged with disorderly conduct by the Charleston Police Department and was held on bail. Since then, an advocacy group called Showing Up For Racial Justice (SURI) created a crowdfunding page to raise money for d'Baha bail and over $6,000 has been collected. In addition, to many on social media, he is a hero. But, his actions is sure to raise the question over the freedom to protest using a Confederate Flag.
