Another child has lost their life to senseless violence and the officers have been slapped on the wrist. Body cams can prevent a tragedy and aid officers in building a better community and protect their image. Not only that the body cams are the only way officers can improve on the daily.

Body cams are a way to prevent unneeded violence in the community and get the truth. The cams will allow every detail of the event to be recorded and played back. According to Body Cam Policy paragraph six “Like the rest of us police officers are bound to remember events in ways that justify their actions.” People are people not everybody is going to remember every single event that took place. That is why having a body cam is the only way to gain the truth with no basis. Privacy concerns most say is important but when trying to avoid another Ferguson event mothers and fathers can say without a doubt that privacy is the last thing on anyone’s minds. …show more content…

The reason for this statement is body cams are an officer’s defense according to the passage “Body cams protect officers from deceitful reporting which can sway public reporting”. This is all the more to have body cams it works out for the community and law enforcement. The cams can also allow for officers to review footage if an incident would arise where the officers would have to defend themselves form public voice. Allowing them to do so can improve relation with the public. Most officers will see the cams as a threat but they are here for condemning the bad and parsing the good
